Commissioned Artwork:

Commissioning an art piece can be an overwhelming and exciting experience; A one of a kind piece for you and loved ones to cherish and pass down. There are a few things to consider before an artwork finds its forever home.

The Commissioner and the artist will communicate via email. (other forms of communication are optional). The Artist may request inspirational pictures, references, or a clear set of written ideas/directives from the Commissioner, as well as providing the same in return. Different requirements maybe need depending on the commissioned work of art. e.g A landscape of a particular place, a portrait etc. will often require a reference image or more. Please provide a decent quality reference/s.

Price of Commission work varies depending on surface, size, materials used to create the piece or the complexity; These variables will be discussed during the development stage before any physical work is started. The larger, heavier and more complex the painting, the more it will cost. The Artist may provide examples of various ideas during this process as well as price range. Every work of art is unique and commissioned work even more so. Communication will be maintained between Commissioner and Artist for the best results.

Commissioned work will require a deposit of 50% of total commission price before physical artwork planning (sketches, mockups, painting etc.) begins. The remaining 50% will be asked once the painting is completed. Once full amount is paid, the work will be shipped out. Upfront payment is accepted.

If Commissioner chooses not to go ahead with the commission before its completion, the 50% deposit will not be refunded. The Commissioner will not be charged the other remaining half of commission price.

Turn around time will be discussed during development. The larger and more complex a painting, the longer it will take. Smaller works usually have a turn around time of a couple of weeks all the way through several months for large, complex works or more than one artwork. Each piece is painted with love by hand, and the time taken to complete them will reflect that.

Commissioned work is copy righted and is for personal use and not to be reproduced in anyway. Intentions for commercial work should be specified and disclosed upon planning and discussion.
